Step-by-step search

Our simple step-by-step search is designed to introduce those new to investment companies to the various types of investment companies and help you to understand some of the factors you could consider before investing.

Step 1 - Choose which type of investment company structure you are interested in:

Conventional companies
Conventional companies issue one class of share and are the most common type of investment company

Split capital companies
Split capital investment companies issue different classes of share which have different rights and entitlements within the company. These different classes of share are designed to meet different investor needs.

Venture Capital Trusts (VCTs)
VCTs are very similar in structure to conventional companies but they invest typically in unquoted shares.
